When we decided to buy a property in the UAE, we honestly didn’t think it would be Sharjah at first. Like most people, we started in Dubai.
Over nearly two full days, we visited multiple Dubai communities. Some were beautiful, some were premium, some had great locations — but none of them truly fit our budget for what we wanted: a spacious townhouse that actually felt like a home, not just a compact urban unit.
Our checklist was simple:
Dubai had great options, but once size, pricing, and payment pressure came in, there were always compromises.
Then we visited Masaar in Sharjah, and that’s when things changed.
Masaar felt different straight away. It’s a forest community, surrounded by trees, nature trails, and open green spaces. Coming from the UK, that calm, outdoorsy feeling really mattered to us. It didn’t feel rushed or overbuilt — it felt planned.
The townhouses were spacious and well laid out, and most importantly, the prices still felt realistic for what you get.
One of the strongest reasons we went ahead with Masaar was the payment structure, which felt genuinely buyer-friendly.
Here’s how it works:
This made a huge difference for us. Instead of locking up a large amount of cash upfront, the payments are spread out sensibly, and the option to mortgage at handover gives flexibility and breathing space. It felt structured for real families, not just investors.
Another big tick for us was schooling.
Masaar has partnered with Reigate Grammar School, which is expected to open around 2027. For families thinking long term, this is massive. Having a respected British-curriculum school within or very close to the community adds a lot of confidence that this is a place built for living, not flipping.
From a residency point of view, the property also helps with Golden Visa eligibility (subject to value thresholds and rules at the time of application). That was another reassuring factor for us — knowing that a property purchase can support long-term residency plans in the UAE, especially if you’re relocating as a family.
Even though Masaar feels calm and tucked away in nature, it’s still well connected:
So you get peace at home, without feeling isolated from Dubai or future lifestyle destinations.
In the end, Masaar wasn’t about chasing a Dubai postcode.
It was about:
For us, coming from the UK and looking for a calmer, greener way of living while still staying connected to Dubai — Masaar just made sense.
